About the panelists:
Danny Schultz has worked closely with private early-stage and mature public companies in the communications, media and technology industries for over two decades. He has been active investing in and helping guide several successful entrepreneurial start-ups prior to co-founding Atlantic Venture Partners, the predecessor to DFJ Gotham Ventures.
Danny focuses on investments in financial services, digital and social media, e-commerce, network infrastructure and mobile technologies. Currently, he is a member of the board of Magnolia Broadband, Panvidea, Pivot Solutions, Seamless Receipts, Totsy.com, ViVOtech, Worktopia and Yipit.
Danny led Gotham's successful investment in XOsoft (acquired by CA) and was responsible for Gotham’s investment in Massive through its successful acquisition by Microsoft. Additionally, he sat on the board of Pantero (data integration middleware) through its sale to Progress Software and was a board member of SMART System Technologies (contactless payment and CRM platform). His personal successful investments include SMARTS (acquired by EMC), Insulair (acquired by Georgia Pacific), Active Impulse Systems (acquired by Phillips) and PassLogix (acquired by Oracle).
Prior to co-founding DFJ Gotham, Danny was a senior banker with Lehman Brothers in the Equity Capital Markets groups in both New York and London focused on technology and emerging growth companies. He is a member of the Investment Committee of the endowment fund of the American Friends of The Hebrew University and is the Assistant Treasurer and a member of the National Board of Governors of AFHU.
Danny is a graduate of Columbia University where he received his bachelor's degree in Economics.
Anton J. Levy is a
Managing Director at General Atlantic, a global growth equity firm, where he
has worked since 1998. Mr. Levy works in General Atlantic's New York City
office where he heads General Atlantic's Global Internet and Technology
practice and serves on the firm's Executive Committee. Mr. Levy has worked
closely with many of General Atlantic's portfolio companies and is a director
of several portfolio companies including Affinion Group, AKQA, Gilt Groupe,
Mercado Libre (NASDAQ: MELI), Network Solutions and Red Ventures and manages a
number of the firm's other investments in the internet, marketing services and
media areas. He formerly served on the boards of Dice Holdings (NYSE : DHX) and
Alex Ferrara joined Millennium in 2011 as a Partner. He focuses on investments in software and internet companies and the intersection of financial services and technology. Prior to Millennium, Alex spent six years with Bessemer Venture Partners where he was a Partner in their New York office.
Alex has been involved with a wide variety of innovative companies over the last decade, including board service with Yodle (local advertising), Shopify (e-commerce), Wix (web content creation tools), SelectMinds (social networking), Quadriserv (securities lending marketplace), and OMGPOP (multiplayer games). Alex was also involved with Bessemer's investments in Pure Networks (acquired by Cisco), Skype (acquired by Ebay), SiteAdvisor (acquired by McAfee), Goal.com (acquired by Perform Group), Activ Financial, TeamViewer, and Gerson Lehrman Group.
Earlier in his career Alex worked at Goldman Sachs in technology investment banking, where he was involved with merger advisory and corporate finance, primarily in the IT-services and software sectors. While earning his MBA, Alex also worked as a part-time associate at both RRE Ventures and Apax Partners. Alex started his career as a software engineer at Salomon Brothers and later worked as a derivatives trader on the New York Board of Trade.
Alex holds an MBA from Columbia Business School, and a B.S. in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Pennsylvania. He co-authored the O'Reilly & Associates book, Programming .NET Web Service
