Galia Maor, ranked in the top 100 influencial woman in the world by Forbes, joined Bank Leumi in 1991 as Deputy General Manager, and in 1995 she was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of the Bank. Ms. Maor began her career at the Bank of Israel where she was in charge of banking legislation, restructuring of the banking system and capital markets supervision. Ms. Maor is a Member of the Advisory Committee to the Bank of Israel and the Advisory Committee for Banking Issues at the Bank of Israel. Ms. Maor serves as Chairperson of the Friends of "Yeladim" (Fair Chance for Children). She is also the Chairman of the INSEAD Israel Council. Ms. Maor holds an MBA and a BA in Economics and Statistics from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
About "Yeladim Besikoy". In Israel there are some 6,500 toddlers, children and youth, who were taken out of their families' households as a result of deep neglect and abuse. They now live in some 80 boarding houses. The carity "Yeladim – Fair Chance for Children" activates programs, key professionals and volunteers aiming to give these children a fair chance to equal others.
