For the past 4 years, Mr. Perez has been involved on a daily base with the US energy market and US focused environment friendly initiatives.
His portfolio of companies include a 'smart grid' communication company which recently raised $90M to launch its activities in the US and a biodegradable granule company addressing a growing need for an environmentally friendly delivery platform of chemicals for the agricultural market.
Mr. Perez unique vantage point as both an investor and operating executive enabled him to develop a comprehensive and balanced view on many of the energy challenges we are facing today.
Mr. Perez will discuss the forces which drive US electrical market as well as issues related to the broader US energy market, which must be addressed in the next 5-10 years:

About the speaker:
Mr. Perez has been personally involved in over $1 billion of transactions as a founder, board member, executive or investor. As a co-founder of TopTier Software, Mr. Perez built TopTier Software into the leading Enterprise Portal company. TopTier Software was acquired by a private investment firm in 1998 and subsequently acquired by SAP AG in 2001. In 2004, Mr. Perez led the transformation of A2i into the leading Master Data Management (MDM) solution in the market, which resulted in its acquisition by SAP AG. In 2005, as chief executive officer and managing partner of U.S.-based venture-capital firm Gilo Ventures, he oversaw two transactions, the sale of Stentor Inc., a medical digital imaging company, to Philips and the acquisition of Sheer Networks to Cisco. Mr. Perez is currently serving as chairman of OrNim Inc., a medical device company, chairman of BackFlip Software, an enterprise software company, President and CEO of Arcadian Networks a critical infrastructure US wireless network carrier and managing partner of Gilo Ventures. Mr. Perez was a Visiting Scholar at Stanford University in 2003-2004.
