A New National Agenda for Israel

Major General (res) Uzi Dayan is the chairman of the Committee for National Responsibility which, among other achievements, has produced the Kinneret Declaration outlining a Jewish-democratic core of understanding and agreement within contemporary Israeli society. Major General Dayan has served as National Security Advisor to Prime Ministers Ehud Barak and Ariel Sharon and Chairman of Israel's National Security Council from 2000-02. He was Deputy Chief of the General Staff from 1998-2000 and Commander of the IDF Central Command from 1996-98. He has a B.Sc. in Mathematics from Hebrew University and an M.Sc. in Operations Research from Stanford.
Dr. Dan Ben-David is a macroeconomist at Tel-Aviv University specializing in economic growth and international economics. He has consulted both the Director General's office at the World Trade Organization in Geneva and the World Bank in Washington, D.C. Dr. Ben-David headed the academic team that prepared the "Proposal for Improving the Israeli Economic Situation" and has presented his research on Israel's long-run socio-economic trajectories to Prime Ministers Barak, Sharon and various other cabinet ministers and Knesset members. He has a B.A. from Tel-Aviv University and both a M.A. and Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Chicago (where his advisor was Nobel laureate Robert Lucas).
