Speaker: Zohar Zisapel - Founder and Chairman, RAD

 

Zohar Zisapel founded RAD Data Communications in 1981, together with his brother, Yehuda. In a relatively short period, RAD has grown into a group of 15 companies with aggregate sales of $550 million in 2001. Six of those companies, Silicom, RADCOM, RiT Technologies, RADWARE, Ceragon Networks and RADVision, are traded on NASDAQ.

 

Prior to founding RAD, Mr. Zisapel served as head of the Electronic Research Department of the Ministry of Defense in Tel Aviv. He received the Israel Defense Prize in 1979. In 1994 he was honored with both the Israel Export Award and the Entrepreneur of the Year Award, and in 1996 he received the Hugo Raminceanu Award for Economics.

 

Zohar Zisapel received both his bachelors and masters degrees in electrical engineering from the Technion, the Israel Institute of Technology, in Haifa, which also awarded him an honorary doctorate in 2001. He also holds a masters degree in business administration from Tel Aviv University.
